The big shave

I did mine differently than Brian. Happy with the checkerboard on one cheek, not so happy with the turnout on the ligtening bolt on the other cheek. I liked the ultra phat goatee and liked the superbad handlebar 'stache at the end.

Big props to Brian for the contest. Regardless of the outcome I'm real proud of your follicle growth abilities. I was there in the beginning when you could sleep in before classes since you never had to shave. Hope everyone else had fun keeping up with the blog!

As if I need an extra 4 days from Brian's final measurement...

this is the best I could do w/out having an enginerd digital scale. My finger is on the 2 inch line and I clearly have a beard hair pulled down there. Again, best I could do. It's not like Brian's measurement pic prove dthe existence of sasquatch, loch ness, or UFOs...

Well, it finally happened...

my beard has evolved...I knew I was letting it get out of control, too much growth, and too much ego when compared to Brian's wanky beard. Genie's out of the bottle now. Shaving day is not a question of winning (as if there was any question) anymore, but about morality. Quite the ethical conundrum...

Hmm, I guess I'll try to get a measurement post in soon. If my beard will let me. Don't have an electronic measurement device though like some cool enginerds...

Week 13 - Sweet

I know there is no way Jay can beat me in this category.  My beard is LONG and I've got the digital measurement to prove it.  It's 1.818 inches after just over 3 months.  That's sweet.

I'm going to be sad to see this thing go.  Honestly, 10 years ago I never would have guessed that I would be where I am today.  It's been an honor to beat the person I looked up to freshman year of college when I was still borrowing an old electric razor from my Dad.

This is my last post before I start to shave it off this weekend.  It's been fun showing Jason up on the blog posts.  His out of focus closeups are just ploy to keep from showing the real detail, or lack thereof, in his beard.  Super lame.  I can't wait to wear the trophy with pride.

bad day at work, lame salespeople, UK didn't show up for a big game, and Emi said her dad was stinky...it's enough to make a beard look like Brian's. But my beard will persevere...one day at a time as it always does.

Week 11 - No Excuses

This beard is taking me places... places most men wouldn't dare to go... places with no internet connection. Yet, here I am, posting the image, with no excuses. If I were Jay there'd be something about whining, crying, or changing the official posting day. But not me. The beard and I are here to get the job done, no matter what.

Week 10 - Prequel to 300

I'm not sure if you guys realize this or not, but my Week 7 picture went around the interweb very quickly in viral email form. It ended up in the hands of Frank Miller and he contacted me immediately. He's been wanting to do a prequel to 300 and now he thinks he has the right person for the job. This beard is going to make me millions.

I think Bri is starting to getting antsy about shaving this rug off my face. Everytime I turn around now, she's standing there with a shaver...she's pretty sneaky too...

Week 08

Jay called me this week to tell me that he thought the hair was a distraction to the task at hand, which is growing a beard.  To that I say, "Bah!"  This time I threw on a hat and showed off the bodacity that is my beard.

I didn't know Brian would pull the Glamour Shots gambit so soon in the contest, he must be nervous...

So I've found that letting this beard get out of hand is actually helping my posture, the last few weeks it seems that whenever I start to slouch I actually fall forward due to the immense mass of beard on the front of my face, so now I have to keep my shoulders back and my spine is better for it.

I seriously can't get over that pic of Brian...

So to give you viewers a visual scale of how insanely huge my beard is, I found this random 6 foot tall chick to take a picture with. I think she plays b-ball for some college. That's how huge my beard is...makes a 6 foot tall girl look like an almost 3 year old...

Do you think Brian had to rent that coat and tie? I think I've lost some sense of innocense after looking at Brian's pic...very disturbed right now...

official Wednesday beard report...

today's beard forecast in Louisville, KY is extremely hairy, dense, and thick. Look for much the same for the remainder of the week. Over in Ottawa, IL, things look chilly and bleak as beards appear to be wimpy, thin, and wispy. Perhaps a scarf is in order?

My beard is so awesome, it needs its own day for updates, we'll just make it wednesdays.
